Self-guided cycling holidays in Germany
Few countries are as well set up for cycling holidays as Germany. With many kilometres of excellent, well signposted long-distance cycle paths linking its fascinating historic cities. These well-signposted routes often follow the course of the great rivers. Discover imperial cathedrals and beautiful vineyards along the Rhine Cycle Path or ride past the towering cliffs of the Elbe Sandstone Massif on the Elbe Radweg between Bad Schandau and Dessau. You can also follow the rivers Elbe and Havel between the great northern cities of Hamburg and Berlin on lovely riverside cycle paths. In Southern Germany, we offer a lovely cycling holiday in Bavaria which largely follows the rivers Loisach and Isar through Munich’s lovely lakelands.
Unsurprisingly, given Germany’s location in central Europe, the routes occasionally cross over into neighbouring countries, offering great opportunities for a multicultural European cycling holiday. You could cycle the mighty Danube from Passau to Vienna, Austria’s imperial capital, or follow the Elbe Cycle Path from Prague to Dresden. Whichever route you choose, you are guaranteed idyllic scenery, charming towns and villages and very pleasant and undemanding cycling.
Our self-guided cycling holidays in Germany include luggage transportation, detailed route descriptions and maps, as well as very comfortable accommodation.
